Brief description: "There’s Nothing Wrong with Love" is the second album created by indie rock band Built to Spill, released in 1994. The group, led by Doug Martsch, creates a nostalgic and emotionally evocative sound with jangly guitars and deeply personal lyrics. Tracks like “Car” and “Reasons” tell bittersweet stories of love, loss, and youthful idealism, resonating with fans of heartfelt, 90s indie rock. The album’s raw production and melodic hooks make it a cornerstone of the genre. One interesting thing about the album is its humorous closing track, “Preview,” a fake medley of “upcoming songs” that do not exist.

Personal note:

Built to Spill is one of my favorite bands ever. I have almost all of their albums on vinyl, and listen to them weekly. I've seen them live a few times live and had an absolutely lovely time. Doug, the lead guitarist has a unique way of performing. His pedal board is on a table, so he activates/deactivaates and changes his tone with his hands opposed to his feet. Which is very unconventional in the world of music. He also keeps his eyes closed during most of, if not all of his songs.
